Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Ceremony

The Schenectady Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held a ceremony to honor the Vietnam era veterans at Vale Cemetery on Vietnam Veterans Day, March 29th.

The 50th Anniversary Commemorative flag was raised on the Vale flag pole and we honored several of the men who died in the Vietnam War and are buried at Vale Cemetery by reading their names and thanking them for their service. 

A wreath was placed at the flagpole, also. Dr. Bernard McEvoy, Vice President of the Board of Directors for Vale Cemetery, was able to assist and attend as well as one of our own member’s husband, Gary Mabee. Both of these men are Vietnam Veterans.

The Schenectady Chapter is also a Commemorative Partner to the 50th Vietnam Commemoration with the Department of Defense. We have pins to award to those people who meet the requirements.
